After thinking long and hard about it, I have decided to call it a day in VU as well.
In the 6 eras (including this) that I have played this game, I have met many great people, and made greater friends. I hope that I, in my own little way, have been able to help my kingdom and my comrades-in-arms achieve success during my time with them.
Now it is time to hang up me boots. Time to concentrate on my real life matters (there are so many projects to do, so many new areas I want to learn, so many things I want to accomplish). More importantly, I better start spending more time with me fiance... or she may leave me for a better looking and richer man :P
So the next 48 hours will be the last hours of my serious activity in VU. After that, I may come back once in a while for some recreational gaming and to catch up with old friends, but the likelihood of that happening is very low, and the gaming will be seriously seriously recreational (I may actually play farming dwarf on Starta, LOL!).
I would like to thank my kingdomates and my comrade in arms for all the good times we had together. I love you guys, and what we did in our 3 eras of Fantasia gaming (excluding this one :P) was very remarkable. I would especially like to give a bear hug to:
i) Greg / Ghost Rider / Lefty / Water - Elder brother. Will miss VU gaming with you dude. Very very much. Make sure you inform me once you become Doctor Gregory. If I have the chance to visit California, I will definitely look you up!
ii) Rob / Batman / Onuris / Imperator - My Leader. We did well mate, we did well :) I do not know how we managed to become a power in VU as Superheroes, Aurora and Godlike *beep*s, but we did it :P You play a damn good hand of diplomacy with the cards you are dealt with :)
iii) Penguin / Punny Monsta (LOL!!!) / Perkunas - Younger brother. You and David leaving the kingdom broke our karma and streak :( You taught me so much about the game. Yes, you are one of the BEST orcs in the game! And I have no doubt that if ever an orc player can win an era, you have as good a chance as any other top orc player to do it. Make sure that it doesn't screw up your RL though :P And I will definitely visit you and Heroix if I come to Lithuania :P
iv) Augh / Captain America / Sheep / Messiah - Second leader! Another person who taught me alot about the game, and the person who brought me into Elements in my second era. One of the best players I have ever seen in this game. Will miss all our 'getting an era win for one of our lads' planning and strategising :P
v) OldMansChild - David!!! Stop drinking dude! Lay off the alcohol, unless it allows you to win more attacks at 2% chances of victory :P One of my closest comrade at arms! Will miss you very much too!!!

- Heroix (the day to Penguin's night. Great teammate)
- Sprout (my l'Enfant chéri de la Victoire. One of the truly capable independant commanders of my kingdom. You not being with us this era also probably broke our streak too.)
- Scotty (the first of several great English VU players in my kingdom. Learnt alot from you).
- Nic / Doctor Strange / Fitesalot / Erebus / Onex - (One of the most articulate and creative lads I have ever met :) You have a great future ahead of you young man :))
- Goran (No more chance to roleplay together my friend :( We did great while we were at it :P Never expected to actually even get a roleplay point, LOL!)
- Kobuskan (best halfling. Most calm and stable player in my kingdom. You are the rock in the stormy waters :))
- Dark Lord Ponsa (great guy! We did well Ponsa :))
- To Trogdar (one of the best players ever), Rottich (I miss you very much too), Elfiwne, Revenge, Bling, Gimli, Master Mind, Mano, Love, Fearn, Ilia, Elliott, Roheran, Satanclausas, Seloc, Ghouma, Midnight, Detox, and every other player of my kingdom past and present (if I missed your name, I am sorry.... I am growing old :P), you guys are a great team! I am sorry that I couldn't make this era a better one for us.... we did need our break and rest though :P (blame Zeta on this for auto placing us on Fantasia :P)

i) Fate, and especially Stormcrow, Dalak, Von Darkmoor and Feanor - our greatest allies, and some of the really great friends I have made. You guys are magnificent!!! I will miss chatting with you guys. If I ever come back to recreational VU, I will definitely look you all up, so please do not ignore me :P
ii) Retribution, and especially Lewatha and Sloth - you guys have built up a great kingdom :) Keep it going. And Sloth, you are definitely a VU great, and one who taught me alot of things too :P

To be absolutely fair to Cobra, you've only played 6 eras. It's fine to make a good-bye thread, but the drama level was quite high. Sometimes it's better just to quit (and that comes from the person who probably holds the VU-record in "I'm quitting for good".

Cobra knows for a fact that with merely 5 eras of playing, I already own him in terms of VU skill. He also probably believes that I own him in terms of real life quality too.
So therefore, since I am leaving this game (god willing for good, though I am definitely leaving serious gameplay permanently), this is his last chance to stand me up :) Let's indulge him for abit :)

It's the part that Cobra uses to make himself feel less inadequate while being compared to a better player who he thinks is less skilled than him. I'd venture to say that it is not that you are remembered that is important, but rather how you are remembered.
Metal will be remembered as a decent person who played the game well, and made a few good friends, the fact he only played 5 eras doesn't matter.
Cobra, you too will be remembered...remembered as the ass of the community who no-one wanted to have anything to do with. The fact that you have played this game for a long while means nothing if that's how you will be remembered. Enjoy your position in history, I hope that you can look back upon it one day and be happy for yourself that you were able to be so cunning and cutting with your words.

It doesn't matter if you were around for 5 or 50 eras. Its the impact you had either on the battlefield, the forums or with people that matter. You have had a major effect in all three areas. Goodluck withevrything mate.
